Negative experience: Shannon with SRH Travel is very disorganized and unprofessional. She had me charge her client 10% over the price so she could get a bigger commission. She also asked for her commission payment many months prior to the tour date, which is unusual because if I have to refund a customer due to a ship not coming into port, she, in theory, would then have to refund us since we would be refunding the customer's credit card. It creates an awkward situation for travel agents using a client's credit card, then getting a kickback, because I would need to deduct the commission from the client's refund if they have to cancel their travel plans OR in the event a ship does not come into Port. I sent her a check for her commission on 2/4/25. Her client's tour was on 7/1/25. She then asked for her commission again, a few months later in September. I sent her a copy of the cashed commission check on 9/12/25. That should have been the end of emails with Shannon about her commissions because we had already had 2 emails about the situation. Most travel advisors keep a spreadsheet to track commission as the year progresses. Then, in February 2026, I hear from Shannon with SRH Travel and Travel Planners International wanting her commission check. AGAIN. For the same client I paid her for in March 2025, and we already had 3 conversations about. I told her I didn't appreciate her disorganization, and I had already sent her a copy of her cashed check from the year before. She then called ME rude and a bunch of other things, which I definitely am not. It seems like she is hustling small businesses and hoping she gets paid multiple times from the same clients. Many small tour operators are not very well organized and would immediately pay a travel advisor without checking whether they had already paid, because they assume they forgot to pay, as I did early in our career. I am going to go ahead and leave SRH Travel a review in kind and let Travel Planners International know the situation.

Fantastic experience: Shannon is an excellent travel agent. She's always on top of everything looking for the best pricing and makes suggestions for additional travel places due to her extensive travel experience. She booked our trip to Switzerland which was going to be our once in a lifetime destination but unfortunately our health deteriorated quickly to the point we couldn't travel. She was on top of it and because she recommend we get our travel insurance early on in the planning stages she got us a complete refund of our trip. I highly recommend Shannon for all your travel plans. She is wonderful and very easy to work with.

Fantastic experience: Shannon/SRH Travel consistently went ABOVE AND BEYOND for me. I had many issues with British Air prior to travel and she responded very quickly to EVERY CONCERN and provided tips about how to resolve various issues. British Air then lost my luggage on a "bucket list" African safari and she helped me go through all the various steps to obtain reimbursement. She is super responsive and very helpful with every detail. I would highly recommend using her for all future travel needs!

Fantastic experience: We have been using SRH Travel since 2006. Shannon has planned multiple trips for us(including Disney x 2, New York, Jamaica, Los Angeles, and Hawaii. Her attention to detail is impeccable. She gives great recommendations of hotels/resorts to stay at, places to dine and activities to do. She is also great at steering you away from places/things that are potentially dangerous. If a problem arises, Shannon is there to assist. She makes sure you have all necessary travel documents. I would highly recommend SRH Travel to anyone seeking assistance with planning a trip. Her expertise is undeniable. Thanks Shannon for all of our wonderful vacations!
