Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I have been AAA members since 1983. We’ve used them countless times. From flat tires to blown transmissions, they’ve been there for us. My latest call was for a dead battery. The truck pulled up at the curb and the technician walked briskly up the driveway. She introduced herself and gave me a firm handshake. She quickly revived my car battery and told me it needed to be replaced. I thanked her and she went on her way. My mechanics later confirmed that I needed a new battery. We just set our AAA membership on auto renew. AAA to the rescue yet again this time a flat tire and the lugs were too tight for me to undo. Kevin drove up 20 minutes later and had me back on the road in 15. Thanks to Kevin and all the hard-working men and women who keep us all Rolling and safe on the road.

Experiencia negativa: I’m reviewing AAA NC as a whole so far I’ve been disappointed. My car was locked with the puppy inside and I made this very clear and was told it would be 72 hours for them to respond? Are you joking? Luckily it wasn’t a hot day. I never had issues in Colorado or NH with AAA so I don’t understand why there was no concern here. I reopened my membership and now I’m considering cancelling altogether and getting a refund because I had to call the fire department and they actually helped me. Disappointing.

Experiencia fantástica: Had a really stressful day today starting off with a popped tire as soon as I pulled into the parking lot at work. Triple A and the technician, Kevin, were awesome! Kevin came out super quick and put my spare on swiftly, all while listening to me complain about my day and being very kind and understanding. I couldn’t be more happy with the service!

Experiencia negativa: I visited this AAA location to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) and was disappointed. Despite arriving at 5:37 PM, well before the closing time stated as 6:00 PM on their door, and with no other customers present, a staff member emerged only to tell me to come back tomorrow. This experience starkly contrasts with a previous visit at another AAA location last year, where I received my IDP within 10 minutes. If service cannot be provided despite my timely arrival and an empty lobby, I see no point in advertising a 6:00 PM closing time.

Experiencia positiva: The posted opening hours on google maps are misleading: for payments, the closing time should be 5:30pm (not 6pm), and lunch break 12-1pm is missing. On the first day, I arrived at 5:35 PM and was told the counters close at 5:30 PM, so I cannot make an international driving permit. I arrived again the next day at 12:30pm, and was told that the only person who can do the international driving license (Dan) is on lunch, so I have to wait or go to another location. After I complained and explained that my flight leaves is a couple of hours, the first employee said Dan had not left the building, and she could go and see if he could come back from his lunch break. He did, and he issued me the document, but he was very unhappy.

Experiencia fantástica: I am a hugh fan of AAA, California. There is many DMV activities AAA handles without the devil lines at DMV. Here in N.C. you have double whammy. Who thought of this? Bad juju! Well AAA here does NOT assist patrons as California ( License tags, change of address, etc. ) sorry to say. This was a great incentive to get AAA back home. The maps are still the best.

Experiencia positiva: AAA used to be customer friendly. They would help you book flights in addition to offering maps. Now, you have to call a toll-free number and pay $35 for their help. It seems that they are interested in booking trips like Disney or cruises. Not sure why I'm a member anymore...

Family drove 2hrs to take her to a tire shop; made it right before closing, thank goodness. Total of 5 hours waiting for help. Ripped up my renewal letter!

Experiencia negativa: I recently bought some foreign currency from them, which they charged me $5 for since I'm not a member. I didn't check the exchange rate - which is on me -but when I bought euros in the past there were no issues. They gave me half of what the market conversion rate is. SMH. If you can sleep at night, have at it. Lesson: don't be taken by the smiles and check the conversion rate.

Experiencia positiva: It depends on which agent you get. Some are more knowledgeable and more helpful than others. I have good experiences and I have bad experiences. I have an update January 2nd of 2018 and AAA's Roadside Assistance Program is pathetic. They should be prepared for very busy times like these. All calls going to the RSA number are being hung up on. So what does our yearly dues of $70 actually cover anyway? I want my money back!! Update: I am calling the Blue Ridge/Raleigh office now. The first time the phone rang and rang and rang, no answer. I'm calling again and I'm timing the rings. This time I got a "your call is important to us, blah blah blah." It's still ringing. I could drive over there to get my issue solved but it's about 10 miles from where I live ...someone answered!! Yay. I was gracious and let them think that I thought they were just extra busy. The service here is just not what I'm sure the AAA main office would hope it would be.

Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful experience! Travel services are top notch. Linda Tassone has been most helpful in planning our European River Cruise. You can leave the hard work to these folks... They will take care of you. Every person we have talked to has been very professional and genuinely polite. They even answer the dumb questions without even a eye roll! We've been AAA members for forty years... That ought to tell you something! We have NEVER had a bad experience with these folks.

Experiencia fantástica: AAA is the best! The office on Blue Ridge road offers travel and insurance services. Who knew AAA had home, auto and life insurance!? Went in and got a FREE passport photo, booked a trip ( SAVED A TON ON A CRUISE!) AND--AND! Got a huge discount when I let them help me with home and auto insurance! Another little secret: if you are a AAA member (only like $49 a year) there is an auto buying service! You can name the year, make, model and milage of the car you want and they will find it, verify it, and bring it to you. This is not your grandmothers AAA! These guys do it all!
