Experiencia fantástica: We used Break-Away to re-book our Honeymoon for July 2021. My wife and I had originally planned on taking our Honeymoon to Antigua in June of 2020. But we had to delay this a year because of covid. the original trip was booked through a different travel agency that we were never really that impressed with. When we contacted the original travel agency to re-book they had failed to communicate with us very effectively so we seeked another travel agency that could help us better. Aleta at Break-Away helped us to re-book our dream honeymoon that we were glad we finally got to take! We also had issues with getting our travel credit that we should have received from our original booking. Aleta helped us to fight with the company that we booked through so that we got all of our money back to use to re-book our honeymoon. Aleta was a huge help on this!

Experiencia negativa: Beware of a bad work ethic. A friend referred me to Break-Away Travel to help plan a trip to South America. I had already done a lot of work on the possible dates, locations, hotels and eco lodges I was considering. I gave my budget, information and time frame, to one of the agents and she said she could get it done. A few days after first contacting Break-Away Travel, I hadn't heard anything back. I called and found the agent was on vacation, which was not a big deal. When I got into contact with her a couple days later, she assured me she could have the trip booked by the end of the following week. As Friday approached, I again was not contacted at all by the agent. I didn't know which eco lodges she was looking at, what dates I'd be leaving/returning or any information. She said she was working with a third party agent to book everything and once she heard from him, she would let me know. Again I was not contacted after that, and I had to make several phone calls to the company and two other agents to find out that the agent I was working with was out. She hadn't told me, had not passed any of my information on to one of the other agents to follow up, and apparently had done no more work, because once I got in touch with her, she had no information at all about the trip. Finally, at 10 pm on the Friday that she said she could have everything done, she emailed me the quote from the third party agent, which was double my budget. She never let me know the estimate would be for this much, probably because she didn't know anything about my trip because she hadn't done any of the work. I booked the trip myself for $5,000 less, but she wasted two weeks of my time and caused an incredible amount of confusion and frustration. The Break-Away Travel agent should have kept in better contact with me, and should have been more proactive about what was going on and her time away. I've never used a travel agent before, and this was the worst possible experience.

Experiencia negativa: I wouldn’t recommend this agency. Hard time staying in touch with them. Also went as a group on vacation and somehow my flight was different from everyone else’s and agent would not correct her own mistake. Nothing was very organized, the pricing of my trip changed several times throughout the process which made no sense to me. I’d search elsewhere for a good travel agent. Was not thrilled with this agency.

Experiencia negativa: Terrible experience. They seem to care less about helping you travel. They have no excitement, no passion. Very unfortunate that they chose this as their career path. Upon arrival, we were not greeted. The attendant did not share her name, nor did she ask for ours. We asked for information about a popular international destination. The attendant only suggested a trip that she had recently booked for someone else. She did not ask what we wanted to do or see. She did direct us to websites to look things up (which we have already done) and pointed to a magazine rack for us to explore trip options. What is the point of your job if I can do it myself with Google? I was under the impressions travel agents have travel experience and they know the ins-and-outs of certain destinations and have insight to travel discounts. At least with this agency, the internet has made them obsolete and their attitudes and customer service acumen makes them insufferable.
